Why oldes look so different. ....

As I start on this 21st year in breeding Bulldogs I realize something, the various styles are highly influenced by the breeders past experience. 

If they raised pits before Oldes, they tend to lean toward more functional bodies and muscles, come from American Bulldogs is very similar, coming from English Bulldogs they only want the most english looking oldes, pet people who turn breeders seem to follow fad until experience reaches them. 

All very understandable.

But can you see how disorganized the results are and how it could get even more messy with the mixing of concepts continues?

That's why a standard exists, while at the same time loose standards leave room for style interpretation. 

No real judgement here, truly just an observation hopefully bridging some understanding.
